💚 The politics of ELT in Colombia and English teachers' political responsibility💚

Reflection about the topic: The presentation was so interesting due to the relation it had with the Colombian laws and development of English teaching, I really liked to know some of the different initiatives that the government has applied for some years, but because of the lack of organization and bad manage those programs have been canceled. The initiative my classmates told about in their explanation was really useful and it's disappointing to realize that their cancelation implied loss of opportunities to students that didn't count on resources to have a better English learning process, worse than that is the potential those programs had and how they could help to Colombian development. I hope more initiatives like them could appear in the future and will prosper to influence students' success without any corruption treat within them.

Personal reflection what you can do as a teacher: As a teacher, I can share those programs, especially which ones are still working in Colombia because they are excellent opportunities for students' English process, and as a future teacher I think with other professors we have the responsibility to impulse English more in Colombia, we can look for more opportunities to give scholarships or courses to our students because we have an incredible responsibility to influence in a positive way the like they have on the English language.
