💛 Feminist theory and the study of gender and education 💛

Reflection about the topic: To start this journal I want to tell you about an anecdote when we were choosing the presentation topics, I really wanted this topic because I like to read and know about gender and feminist theory, but someone else had taken the topic, I had to beg for the topic so much, and finally my classmate gave me the topic. The research about the topic was so good, I enjoyed the work we did with Valentina and Silvia, my presentation partners, and the information we collected was interesting and useful. It was the topic I liked the most because of my interest in it so that I put a lot of effort into learning, understanding, and explaining the topic as clear as possible, I hope everyone liked it and could have understood and been aware of how this topic it's important to improve our coexistence in society and lives.

Personal reflection what you can do as a teacher: From this topic, I can understand the necessity we have to start to talk about gender and diversity in schools, nowadays it's more common to accept differences related to sexuality, however, it's disturbing realizing that schools ignore these differences and don't do anything to create awareness in students' minds, that's why this presentation led me information and opportunities to learn more about the topic and apply this knowledge in classes, I think students need to know more information about gender and sexuality because it can help them to be more tolerant and recognize differences between others that we have to respect because it is an individual characteristic and anybody can judge ourselves due to our gender.
